This course is specifically designed to provide workers the knowledge
required to become employable in the Rock Crushing Industry.
During this class students are provided with instruction to add
a CDL endorsement to their drivers license and obtain a First Aid
card.
Students learn proper set up and tear down procedures of a Rock
Crusher. Participants learn the names of all the major components
such as, the Jaw, Rolls, Conveyors, Screening Units, Standard and
Short Head Cones, Impact Crushers, Load Out Bunkers, Chain, Vibrating
and Reciprocating Feeders, and Radical Stackers. Specific names
of parts of each unit are learned as well. Such as Troffing and
Return Rollers, Belt Fasteners and Reduction Drives.
In the lab the students practice Safe Operation of a actual Rock
Crusher as well as the Safe Operation Techniques of common support
equipment such as Wheel Loaders, Bulldozers, Cranes and Dump Trucks,.
The lab instruction takes place in an actual Rock Quarry.
This course also provides Safe Cutting, Burning and Welding Techniques,
preventative and Routine maintenance Procedures, proper Lock Out/Tag
Out Procedures as well as the identification of basic Electrical
Components and safe work practices associated with them.
